Volunteers
Companion Hospice is looking for volunteers. If you are at least 18 years old and are willing to donate 1-4 hours per week to assist one of our very special folks, please contact us. In return for a gift of your time, you will receive training, ongoing support and a wonderful feeling in your heart.
Volunteers help in many ways, including:
- Providing relief for family members
- Running errands
- Preparing light meals
- Providing transportation
- Reading to our patient
- Writing letters
- Playing cards or games
- Listening to music together
- Providing companionship
- Giving feedback to our hospice team
To get started as a volunteer, you need to complete the following:
- A written application, including 3 personal references
- A personal interview with our Volunteer Director
- Our 15-hour orientation and training program
- Required health screening forms
